What to expect?
Discover the beauty of southern Quintana Roo, Mexico, on a pontoon excursion through the beautiful Laguna de los Siete Colores in the magical town of Bacalar, where you will enjoy the history, culture and local cuisine.
The excursion begins with a tour in a comfortable land transportation unit to the town of Pedro Antonio de los Santos, where you will learn about the local culture and economy, highlighting the sustainable cultivation of honey pineapple, the main product of the area.
In Bacalar, you will visit the San Felipe Fort, built between 1725 and 1733 to protect itself from attacks by pirates who were looking for dyewood. Then, you will board a pontoon at the dock to navigate the lagoon and discover three cenotes (black, emerald, cocalitos), an important part of the lagoon ecosystem, including a stromatolite reef, one of the most important in Latin America.
You will enjoy the crystal-clear waters of the pirate channel, ideal for the whole family, while the guide tells you the history of the pirates and wars that marked the town. In addition, you will get to know the local gastronomic culture and try spicy and non-spicy sauces that will accompany your Mexican tacos in a typical restaurant.
